When you register, the first thing you should decide is what race you'd like your character to be (PM a Scribe if you made a mistake and would like to alter your race). Below is a listing of the available races in RoH.
Light Alliance
Human: Believed to be related to Hylians, this race is the most common throughout Hyrule. Generally considered a race of "balanced" abilities, Humans are not inherently good or bad at many abilities. It is this "balance" which makes them so versatile. Some
train to be strong, others quick; some practice the art of stealth, whilst still others hone their magical prowess. This versatility is one of the prime reasons that this race is so dominant throughout Hyrule. |

Hylian: [This Race is currently unavailable to all members. This may be altered in the near future.]

|
Rito: These bird-like creatures have a mysterious origin. In the distant past they grew their wings after receiving a scale from the Dragon Spirit Valoo, but he has not been seen for many an age. Now the Rito are simply born with their wings, through centuries of evolution. The Rito are inherently light and quick, and their ability to fly often gives them an advantage when danger is close at hand. |

Forest Alliance
Deku: These bush-like "Scrubs" are often in forests mistaken for real bushes. They are indeed made of a woody substance, with leaves or moss growing from their heads like hair (and also facial hair). They are notably shy to strangers, but no less aggressive. The tempers for these creatures are commonly as short at their statures, and in groups can be quite fearsome. Being made of something like wood, the Deku are naturally very hardy, but also light, so that many have been seen gliding around using large leaves. Being bush-like in physical structure also means they have a natural hatred for axes and fire, so it is unwise to bring either in close proximity to a Deku.
The Deku have a short, trunk-like snout from which they are able to shoot Deku Nuts, giving unwary travelers a bruise to be reckoned with. Like the Kokiri, they are very quick and have a mastery of stealth in the forest. Because of their small size, they are weak in physical combat, preferring to fight it out from afar with Deku Nuts. They cannot swim, but they float rather well. |
|
Kokiri: Known as the ‘eternal children of the forest,' this race retains the stature and essence of childhood throughout their lives (they are immortal). They are not born, but are created by the Great Deku Tree. They do not grow older, or begin their lives as babies, but remain the same "age" of around 10 for their entire existence. Sheltered from the outside world they dwell deep within the forests of Hyrule. They generally wear green, believed to be a sign of their respect for nature. They very rarely leave the forests, and are thus hard to find in the outside world. The Great Deku Tree rules over their main locale in Kokiri Forest.
Like the Deku, they are very agile and quick, but weak when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. Like most playful children, they are good swimmers, love to climb (especially trees), and are quite good at hiding. Being forest dwellers, they have incredible stealth within forest terrains. Kokiri are generally light-hearted and playful, considering that in their hearts and minds they are kids. |

Fire Alliance
Goron: A resilient people, the Goron race dwells in the deep mountain ranges of Hyrule. Their diet consists of rocks, and the minerals found within. Camouflaged to look like rocks, they can curl up into tight balls to hide in rocky terrain. When they are curled up, Gorons can roll at incredible speeds, often-times quicker than a horse. As this race is made of something like rock, they are amazingly tough, and can also withstand volcanic temperatures. Gorons are extremely strong, but very slow in both movement and combat (a strong exception eing when they roll). They cannot swim, and sink like, not surprisingly, rocks. |
|
Lizalfos: An ancient race, the Lizalfos live out their lives in various locations, mostly in tribes. The Lizalfos resemble enormous, humanoid lizards; their appearance often varying with their surroundings. The Lizalfos are fairly strong creatures, with a knack for combat. Aside from being able to wield normal weapons, they can employ their teeth, razor sharp claws, and their powerful tails as well. Being somewhat related to crocodillians, Lizalfos are adept swimmers, and also have great leaping abilities.
The Dinalfos are closely connected with the Lizalfos, but are in general considered to be of the same species. It is thought my scholars that the Dinalfos are simply Lizalfos that are in high commanding positions; with part of their nature being to "mutate" under these conditions. |
|
Subrosian: A mysterious race from the volcanic caverns deep beneath the country of Holodrum, these creatures are never seen without their trademark cloaks. Because of this, none are sure of just what Subrosians really look like, but for some reason the Subrosians are still able to hold things through their cloaks. Recently, many Subrosians have migrated to Hyrule to sell their wares and see the sights. Their main export is ore from the caverns of Subrosia, which is used in many smithies across the lands, and in Subrosia ore is used as currency.
Like the Gorons, Subrosians love extremely high temperatures, and even take lava bathes, and drink lava soup. They are small in stature, and therefore are not very strong, but they are a crafty, cunning folk despite their good natured appearance. |

Water Alliance
Zora:
Fish Zora: This water-dwelling people tend to the waterways of Hyrule, honoring a centuries old allegiance with the Hylian Royal Family. They have fins on their arms and legs, and one large on protruding from the back of their heads. Zoras have gills and thus can breath underwater, but they also have lungs, so they can live above or below water, although when above water they must consume large quantities of water. None can match these expert swimmers, and they are deadly in underwater combat, where they can bring the razor-sharp fins on their arms into play. Zoras also have the ability to run an electric current around their bodies, which they usually employ as a last defense.
Savage Zora: Like their distant cousins, the Savage Zora do not resemble fish, but are rather like mutant humanoid frogs. Most people find their appearance to be hideous, and it is a popular myth that this is the reason said Zoras are mostly unfriendly and aggressive. They are not as good at swimming as the Fish Zora, but make up for it with increased physical prowess, and the ability to travel and lurk in mud. |

Shadow Alliance
Sheikah: [This Race is currently unavailable to all members. This may be altered in the near future.]
|
|
Wizzrobe: The Wizzrobe are one of the more mysterious races, and debates on their origin and true nature rage wildly. One of the few concrete facts about them is their mastery of magic, which is second to none, as is their intelligence. They sometimes wield small arms such as knives, or stalves, but are apparently very short on physical strength. Consequently, they are generally terrible at anything related to muscular prowess, such as climbing, swimming, or running. They make up for this short-coming with the ability to teleport short distances. This ability would make a very useful trait for combat, but the large *POOF* of smoke that bursts from their new locations prevents it from being entirely too advantageous.
Most scholars are unsure of exactly what Wizzrobes are. Most look like frail Humans, but there have been frequent sightings of bird-like creatures undergoing the same name. Both races are equally skilled in magic, and surprisingly stealth, but their true natures remain as cloaked as the Wizzrobes themselves. |

Spirit Alliance
Gerudo:
[Note: Male Gerudo are unavailable for selection by all members. The only male Gerudo of RoH is the NPC Dagoura, AKA the Gerudo King.]
This race's reputation is that of a race of thieves; a reputation well deserved in many cases. The Gerudo only produce a single male off-spring for every 100 years. Therefore, female Gerudo frequent other Hyrule settlements, searching for Human males in order to have children. Even though these Gerudo women interbreed with Humans, every child born to them is of pure Gerudo blood. It is widely believed that a certain magical property in the Gerudo blood causes any other mixing gene to be overruled by the former.
The Gerudo are natural fighters; on average as strong as the typical Human male, despite their being women. Living in the desert has mad them resistant to strong heat, and they are particularly good at concealing themselves in desert terrain. Most Gerudo lack the ability to swim, as they are not accustomed to large bodies of water. |
|
Moblin:
Dog Moblin: Like the Wizzrobes and Lizalfos, the Moblins were servants of Ganon, and many still are, being a race of hatred and spite. These bulldog-esque Moblins, commonly referred to as Dog Moblins, are the larger and stronger of the two breeds. While they possess the ability of speech and weapon-usage, they are generally unintelligent, and are often easily out-witted. Despite this, they excel at combat, and will often surprise adventurers who take them for "stupid beasts" with their cunning. Even those who cannot count are able to set crafty traps. The Dog Moblins are good swimmers, as well as anything else related to physical prowess, but are almost completely devoid of the ability to use magic, or to read for that matter.
Pig Moblin: Pig Moblins, though they are still quite large, do not have quite the sheer brute power granted to their cousins. Similar in many ways, the average person cannot tell one Moblin from the other, but there are some key differences. The Pig variation posses a greater intelligence than do the Dog breed. Their traps are more clever, and their reasoning skills are a fair ways advanced. In general still not equivalent to the typical Human's intellect, but noticeably superior to their more physically oriented relatives. Pig Moblins are for some reason poor swimmers, but there have been those that can use some magic. |
