This section is a guide for what kind of Zelda references are acceptable in the RP, and which are not. For complete understanding, it is necessary to show the history of Hyrule, as is accepted at Realms of Hyrule.

Note: the following chronology is not necessarily the true timeline for the Zelda series. But it is what we go by on RoH.

This chronology is subject to change as new Zelda games are released. Now that the timeline has been clarified, here are the timeline rules, and the reasons behind them.

  • Characters cannot have been from, or to Termina.
  • Characters cannot have been from, or to any islands from The Wind Waker.
  • Characters cannot have been from, or to any Hyrule locations aside from the ones from the ones on the RoH Map.
  • Characters cannot have met ANY character from ANY Zelda game, period.
  • Characters cannot have in their possesion, or have ever had, any special items or weapons from Zelda games, including magical masks, swords, quest items, etc.
  • Characters should not have more than a very general knowledge of any Zelda game's events, unless they are of a scholarly nature (and even then not complete knowledge).
  • Characters can have been from, or to Holodrum and/or Labrynna.

Areas: Hyrule was flooded in The Wind Waker's back story (and the only known entrance to Termina), Koholint Island from Link's Awakening was only a dream, and since the Hyrule from the RoH Map is the most recent, any previous states no longer exist. Holodrum and Labrynna are separate from Hyrule, and were not flooded. They are reachable by sea.

Characters: Any character from a Zelda game would be dead by this point in time. Kokiri are immortal, yes, but for simplicity's sake, no Kokiri are allowed to be old enough to have met any of these characters, or seen any past states of Hyrule.

Items: There are many items which are too unique/rare/special for any member to have. The Fierce Deity's Mask, the Master Sword, the Ocarina of Time, spiritual stones, etc. If in doubt, ask a Scribe.

Information: Do not talk about Link and his quests as if they are common knowledge. Everything before The Legend of Zelda is ancient history, especially Ocarina of Time. Only the greatest modern Hyrule scholars would know much about those events, and even they would not know everything (i.e. the events that took place in The Wind Waker would not be known to any, as only Link and Tetra actually knew about them).
